Angelina Schoener
The Female Empowerment Foundation is proud to recognize Angelina Schoener as one of this year's FEFA Award recipients for her exceptional leadership, dedication to service, and unwavering commitment to empowering others.
Angelina's passion for serving her community began during her twelve years as a Girl Scout, where she achieved the organization's highest levels of recognition by earning the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards.
For her Bronze Award, Angelina and her troop organized a community initiative to collect, assemble, and donate feminine hygiene kits for women residing in a local shelter, helping provide essential resources to women in need with dignity and compassion.
Her Silver Award reflected her love of animals and commitment to their well-being. Angelina organized volunteers and secured corporate donations to design and build a sensory garden for shelter dogs at the Women's Animal Center. The project created a calming environment where dogs could reduce the stress and anxiety often associated with shelter life. The garden was also equipped with donated toys and enrichment materials, further enhancing the animals' quality of life. In recognition of this outstanding project, Angelina was honored as a Hometown Hero and featured in the Bucks County Courier Times. Her passion for animal welfare continues today through volunteer service at the Churchville Nature Center.
Angelina earned the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award by combining nearly a decade of Jiu Jitsu training with her passion for empowering young women. She founded a women's self-defense club at her high school to provide a safe, supportive environment where students could learn practical self-defense skills and build confidence. The program became so successful that faculty members joined the classes, and Angelina was invited to teach self-defense lessons as part of the school's physical education curriculum.
Today, Angelina continues her martial arts journey as a blue belt in Jiu Jitsu, where she coaches at tournaments, mentors younger athletes, and assists with women's self-defense seminars throughout the community.
Beyond athletics and community service, Angelina demonstrated exceptional leadership and creativity through her high school's television network. As executive producer of the senior class video, she led production efforts by coordinating recordings, writing scripts, directing fellow students, and editing the final presentation that was shared with the entire graduating class.
Inspired by that experience, Angelina independently created the Senior Sign Outs project, documenting graduating athletes from all 18 varsity sports as they signed commemorative plexiglass panels. She produced and edited the recordings into a memorable tribute celebrating the achievements and lasting legacy of the graduating class.
Angelina also served for three years as an Owl Ambassador, helping promote student leadership, school involvement, and community engagement. Her dedication led to her appointment as Captain of the Spirit Night Grey Dance Team, where she choreographed performances and coordinated dance routines. She further demonstrated her commitment to service by participating in programs welcoming incoming students, celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week, and volunteering with Bensalem Buddies, an initiative that fosters meaningful connections between general education students and students in special education.
This fall, Angelina will attend Delaware Valley University, where she will major in Animal Science with the goal of continuing her education in veterinary school. Her lifelong dedication to animals, combined with her proven leadership, compassion, and service, reflects the very qualities the Female Empowerment Foundation seeks to recognize and celebrate.
